Response components:
- Bold headline: A summary of what the answer is about
- Bullet points: Key information extracted from your documents
- Source links: Direct links to the original documents where the information was found, with the integration name in parentheses
Privacy and Data Access
AskOro is designed with privacy in mind. Here is exactly what we access and what we do not.
What AskOro accesses:
- Messages in channels where @AskOro is mentioned (only to respond to questions)
- Direct messages sent to @AskOro
- Basic workspace information (workspace name, your user ID) for authentication
What AskOro does NOT access:
- Private channels where AskOro is not invited
- Direct messages between other users
- Message history in channels (we only see new messages that mention @AskOro)
- Files shared in Slack (unless Slack Messages integration is enabled)
- Your Slack workspace settings or admin controls
Slack Messages integration: If you enable the Slack Messages integration separately, AskOro will index public channel history to make it searchable. This is optional and requires explicit consent. Private channels and DMs are never indexed.
Data isolation: Your data is never shared with other workspaces. Each AskOro workspace has completely isolated data storage.
Troubleshooting
AskOro is not responding to my questions
- Make sure AskOro is invited to the channel. Type
/invite @AskOroto add it. - Check that you are mentioning @AskOro at the start of your message
- Verify the Slack integration is connected in your AskOro dashboard
- If in a private channel, ensure AskOro has been explicitly invited
AskOro says it cannot find any information
- Check that you have connected at least one integration (Notion, Google Drive, etc.) in your AskOro dashboard
- Make sure the initial sync has completed. New integrations take 5 to 15 minutes to sync.
- Verify that the information you are looking for exists in one of your connected sources
- Try rephrasing your question with different keywords
AskOro responses are slow
- Complex questions that search across many documents may take a few seconds
- If responses consistently take more than 10 seconds, check your internet connection
- Contact support if slowness persists
I cannot install AskOro in my workspace
- You may need workspace admin approval. Click "Request to Install" and your admins will be notified.
- If your workspace has restricted app installations, contact your IT administrator
- Make sure you are signed in to the correct Slack workspace
AskOro is showing outdated information
- AskOro syncs data from your integrations daily at 6:00 AM UTC
- Recent changes may not be reflected until the next sync
- You can trigger a manual sync from the Integrations page in your dashboard
